This book is dedicated to the cinema of Gianni Amelio, one of the most representative and established directors of contemporary Italian cinema and critically investigates all of Amelio’s work, retracing its evolution and tracing a very stimulating path not only in the thematic research of the director but also in the expressive modes of his film production. A section hosts many images taken from Amelio’s films, followed by a long interview with the director. The book is accompanied by a series of very accurate filmographic cards and an extensive bibliography.
